If you can tear yourself away from obliterating aliens with your meticulously placed towers and shotgun (because the shotgun’s the only way to go), then you’ve noticed that Sanctum 2 is getting quite the upgrade. PC fans of the title can now pick up the Road To Elysion DLC pack, the first of four planned expansions, on Steam for $3.99. If you like to be prepared for the future, then you can pick up a Season Pass too for $11.99.
Aside form the new maps and weapons, the main feature being teased is the addition of a brand new playable character, TSYGAN. Whoever this “Rogue Insurgent” is, they hold the key to understanding more about LOEK III. Once again touting their offering, CEO of Coffee Stain Studios Anton Westberg promises that fans will find plenty to enjoy with this new addition to the game.
“We’ve packed Road to Elysion with a ton of new stuff … Above and beyond the gameplay additions we’ve incorporated into Road to Elysion, the new playable character TSYGAN adds an interesting, darker dimension to Sanctum 2 that I think our fans will love.”
In case you didn’t catch the news last time, Road To Elysion will provide a hefty amount of new goodies for a small price. Check out the official list below:
• New Playable Character – TSYGAN, the “Rogue Insurgent”, reveals the sinister origins to the colonization of LOEK III.
• Diverse Maps – Four new maps with exciting gameplay elements adding refreshing new tactics and replayability.
• Two Mega Powered Weapons – Take hold of the Rapid-firing Gatling Laser & TSYGAN’s own handheld Ballista!
• Two Distinct Towers – The Range Spire dramatically increases the reach of nearby offensive towers and the Slow Field Dispenser dramatically hinders the speed of enemies to make choke points more effective.
• Enhanced Enemies – With new support monsters that heal and mutate the attacking horde and a vicious new aerial enemy boss, players must be prepared for this heightened challenge.
• Additional Perks – Customize your character even more with six new perks, including a perk that gives you an in-game pet robot that will fight for you.
Once again, there’s no word on whether or not Road To Elysion will be available for XBLA any time soon, so keep your eyes peeled for news on that front. Until then, be sure to pick up this newest pack and keep your Sanctum 2 addiction in check.
