As if the tepid reaction Medal of Honor: Warfighter has received from critics isn’t enough bad news for publisher EA, now there’s a new controversy to throw into the mix of negative press that the game has built up. Seven members of Navy SEAL Team 6 who were consulted to help provide a realistic military experience with the game never got their commander’s permission beforehand. In addition, they showed the developers secret combat equipment not meant for the public eye.
Each member has received a “punitive letter of reprimand” as well as having their wages cut for the next two months. Four additional members are also under investigation.
According to MP1st, EA has no plans to recall the game and when asked for a comment, they simply said:
There are no plans to recall Medal of Honor Warfighter from store shelves and we have no plans to alter the content contributed by combat veterans in the game. We have no further comments.
As always, we’ll keep you posted when more updates on this story arise.
