Nihilistic Software has revealed that they would like to include a Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified for the PlayStation Vita, but it is “not their call”.

The statement, which was made in response to a question on the company’s Twitter account, reads:

“Only Activision and Sony have the power to greenlight Zombies mode for CoD Vita. We would love to do it if they ask. But it’s not our call.”

A follower later responded that the developer should “make the suggestion” to Sony and Activision, to which Nihilistic responded “We absolutely have”.

TheĀ omissionĀ of Zombies from Black Ops Declassified, and Activision’s apparent refusal to greenlight the mode after being asked by the developer, seems to be just one more sign that the publisher is putting as much distance between themselves and the Vita game as possible.

At this point it is impossible to say how Black Ops Declassified will turn out when it hits the Vita this November, but I’m finding it hard to interpret any of Activision’s actions as being a positive sign for the game. Hopefully it all turns out okay, but I’m not holding my breath.
