Play Catch-Up With This Epic Mickey 2 Story Recap

Unlike its predecessor, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two will not be a Wii exclusive. Instead, the paint-filled sequel will be released for all three of today's television-based machines, in addition to both Windows PC and Mac OS X. What that means is that the accessible experience will be available to a much larger audience than Warren Spector's first jaunt through the iconic character's world. However, there's a downside to this plan, because a large portion of the gaming community never bought into the Wii, and decided to go with at least one of its high-definition opponents instead.

Unlike its predecessor, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two will not be a Wii exclusive. Instead, the paint-filled sequel will be released for all three of today’s television-based machines, in addition to both Windows PC and Mac OS X. What that means is that the accessible experience will be available to a much larger audience than Warren Spector’s first jaunt through the iconic character’s world.

However, there’s a downside to this plan, because a large portion of the gaming community never bought into the Wii, and decided to go with at least one of its high-definition opponents instead.

In order to make sure that those who don’t own a Nintendo Wii can still enter into Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two without feeling lost, Junction Point Studios has released an introductory cutscene that summarizes the first game’s plot as well as the events that followed. Although it’s certainly different than the immersive experience that the game’s entire run time offered, it’s still something.

Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two will be released on November 18, 2012.
