Not every love story has a happy ending, and Ariana Grande surely knows that by now, and from the looks of it, the singer will not be sharing any details about this heartbreaking divorce.
Albeit leaving some fans shocked by the revelation, the singer’s secrecy regarding her marital status is not at all that surprising. Grande has long shared her wish to keep her life private, evidenced by her 2020 comments toward Florence Pugh. Three years ago, the Oppenheimer actress opened up about her relationship with Zach Braff – who is 21 years older than Pugh – and Grande immediately shared on a now-deleted Instagram story, her thoughts and reservations about sharing her relationships with the public.
“Sharing special, personal life things that make you happy on the internet can be truly traumatic. I know I’ve taken a step back from doing so to protect my loved ones and myself but I just wanted to share this and let you know how perfectly you expressed this and how appreciated you are for doing so @florencepugh.”
Despite her wish for secrecy, a mere few hours ago the news of her separation from Dalton Gomez broke the Internet. Gomez and Grande eloped in 2021, celebrating their relationship in a private ceremony attended only by friends and family. After two years of marriage, the duo allegedly separated amicably in January, and according to TMZ, are on their way to officiate their divorce after months apart.
Grande publicly dated Big Sean from 2014 until 2015, and a year later, the late rapper Mac Miller until 2018. That same year, the singer also entered a very public relationship with comedian Pete Davidson, until the engaged couple broke things off following the passing of Grande’s ex-boyfriend and friend, Miller. After years of having her relationships boasted in the limelight, Gomez was her first relationship away from the cameras, and from the get-go, the duo kept their relationship private, rarely making any public appearances together.
For now, the real estate agent and the singer have yet to comment on their separation, and in the end, they will likely refrain from making any official statements.
