A new piece of information has surfaced concerning Robert De Niro’s grandson, Leandro’s death. a woman who was found to be connected with his death was taken into custody for further inquiry in regards to the case. The 20-year-old woman, whose name is yet to be revealed, was brought in by a NYPD joint force on Thursday, and is accused of selling drugs to Leandro causing his death, per TMZ.
It was De Niro’s daughter, Drena De Niro who initially revealed that a fentanyl overdose was the cause of Leandro’s death. “Someone sold him fentanyl-laced pills that they knew were laced yet still sold them to him so for all these people still f***ing around selling and buying this s***, my son is gone forever,” she wrote in an Instagram comment.
His death was made public on July 2. Family and friends came forward to express their grief, including Robert De Niro who shared his deep distress caused by family tragedy.
Drena De Niro who was deeply affected by her son’s unexpected and untimely death took to social media to share the sadness “My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly. You have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life.”
The shocking news of Leandro’s death no doubt was distressing for many. The 19-year-old actor was known for his involvement in projects like A Star is Born (in which he starred alongside Bradley Cooper), as well as Cabaret Maxime, both released in 2018.
