Forget about celebrity news and pop culture for a while, it’s time to dig into what really matters these days… watching content off of Hulu without an internet connection. Who gives a crap about what’s going on the our world, if you can’t watch your favorite shows anymore?
For the next 200-ish words, or until I get bored, I’ll be your guide on this journey to technologic nirvana. Imagine that I am a streaming sensei, and you are but my humble apprentice. That is, until you inevitably rise up and try to defeat me. Yes — you’re right — our battle will be legendary, but let’s press pause on that for a second.
I endeavor to teach you all that I know about Hulu’s downloadable content feature. To be brutally honest though, I had to Google most of this information, so for the sake of the metaphor — just play along.
How to watch Hulu offline
Any subscriber out there with one of Hulu’s “No Ads” plans can take advantage of this feature and be watching without Wi-Fi in no time. Hurray!
To all the folks out there who aren’t paying for advertisement exclusion – condolences. It looks like you won’t be able to download any shows or movies without coughing up some cash.
Still, I’ll go on record to say that streaming without ads is the only way to retain any sort of sanity in this economy. It’s worth the money.
To download a movie or show off of Hulu, all you need to do is connect to the internet. Then, click on Hulu’s global navigation bar and tap “Downloads.” From there, you can see what’s downloadable (not everything on the platform is).
Select the show or movie you’d like to watch, press download , and you’re done. It’s worth mentioning that for shows you will have to select which specific episodes you’d like to download, but that’s easy. You can even monitor the progress of your downloads by going back to the “Downloads” bar — if you have trouble waiting around. Patience is a virtue, my dear apprentice. That shall be our next lesson. As an aside, you can also use cellular data to download movies or shows offline, but that’s totally up to you.
Once downloaded, you’ll be able to enjoy your selection even when offline. I’ll leave you with one final warning: Downloads expire. After 30 days, you’ll have to go back to Hulu and re-download stuff if you haven’t gotten around to watching it. Pretty straightforward, right?
Well, there you have it. I have taught you all that I know when it comes to downloading content off of Hulu. Use it wisely. The fate of absolutely nothing depends on it.
