The final chapter is rife with faces both familiar and fresh.

We’re just a day away from the hair-raising conclusion of the illustrious Insidious franchise, with Insidious: The Red Door due in theaters tomorrow. There may be a Jeremy Slater-spearheaded spin-off in the works at the moment, but this is nevertheless the end of the road for the Lambert family, and only time will tell whether or not that ending is a happy one (or, at the very least, one they survive).

In keepingwith the cultural zeitgeist’s fixation on continuity, all of the franchise’s recognizable faces are back for round five, with a few new players joining the nightmare this time around.

Ty Simpkins

Leading the film’s cast is Ty Simpkins, who reprises his Insidious and Insidious: Chapter 2 role as Dalton Lambert, the oldest of the Lambert children sets off for college at the beginning of the film. It’s his unsettlingly familiar nightmares that kick off this particular round of dire straits for the clan and company.

Patrick Wilson

Patrick Wilson makes his return as Josh Lambert, the protagonist of Insidious and Insidious: Chapter 2, who passes the spotlight to his son Dalton this time around. Wilson also makes his directorial debut with The Red Door.

Rose Byrne

Rose Byrne portrays her character Renai Lambert, of Insidious and Chapter 2 fame, once again in The Red Door. The husband of Josh, mother of Dalton, and a frequent target of the ghosts that haunt the family, The Red Door could be her most horrifying plight yet; a mother’s fears are often stimulated enough just dropping her son off at college for the first time, let alone with the added nuance of demons that don’t seem keen on letting him live.

Andrew Astor

Andrew Astor returns as Foster Lambert, the second-oldest of Josh and Renai’s children. Mostly a frightened spectator back during Insidious and Chapter 2, Foster is all grown up now, so it won’t be terribly surprising if he gets a bit more involved with warding off the entities that have haunted his family for generations.

Lin Shaye

Major Insidious player Lin Shaye, who’s been involved with all five films as of The Red Door, reprises her role as Elise Rainer, a longtime friend of the Lamberts who was killed during the events of the opener, but continues to aid them as a spirit in the afterlife. It’s not entirely clear whether we’ll be seeing her in spirit form, if The Red Door will go the route of Chapter 3 and The Last Key by following her before the events of the first film, or some combination of the two. Either way, it wouldn’t be an Insidious movie without Shaye.

Hiam Abbass

Succession‘s Hiam Abbass appears in the film as a new character named Professor Armagan, an art professor at Dalton’s college.

Sinclair Daniel

Sinclair Daniel, who’s set to play the lead in Hulu’s upcoming television series The Other Black Girl, enters the Insidious universe as Chris, a gung-ho classmate of Dalton’s with whom he becomes fast friends with, and by the sounds of things, she’s all but ready to jump feet-first into the Further for the people she cares about.

Peter Dager

WITS Academy alum Peter Dager portrays a new character in The Red Door known only as Nick the Dick. We’re going to go out on a limb and assume this is another new classmate of Dalton’s, but one that’s slightly less genial than Chris, so to speak.

Jarquez McClendon

Jarquez McClendon, who just had an uncredited role in Jennifer Lawrence’s new sex comedy film No Hard Feelings, rounds out the main cast of Insidious: The Red Door. At the moment, it seems his is the only role that has yet to be revealed, but given the actor’s youthful appearance, it’s no stretch to assume he’ll be yet another of Dalton’s classmates.

Outside of the main cast, Juliana Davies portrays an elementary school-aged Kali, the youngest of the Lambert children, whilst Angus Sampson and Insidious franchise creator Leigh Whannell reprise their roles as Tucker and Specs, Elise’s old spirit-hunting colleagues. Elsewhere, Joseph Bishara torments the Lamberts as the Lipstick Demon, while Steve Coulter, Justin Sturgis, David Call, Stephen Gray, Robin S. Walker, and Bridget Kim also feature.
