The internet cannot contain its excitement after The Suite Life of Zack & Cody star Dylan Sprouse and Victoria’s Secret Angel Barbara Palvin confirmed their engagement through Instagram posts on June 15. The duo have been dating for the past 5 years since 2018 and sparked engagement rumors earlier this year after Palvin was spotted at the Mammoth Film Festival wearing a diamond ring.
The adorable duo met at a party only eight months prior to dating each other. However, the Hungarian model revealed in an interview with V Magazine conducted by Dylan’s twin brother, Cole Sprouse, that she ghosted Dylan for six months after meeting him. But nevertheless, we’re happy that she decided to hit him up again and spark the romance. Following the conversation, Barbara revealed that the couple has actually been engaged since September 2022. Sprouse talked about the reason for keeping their engagement a secret, saying,
“There’s a lot of demand from the general public for full transparency, which is funny to me because no relationship is fully transparent…We didn’t necessarily feel the need to be fully transparent with the public about that aspect of our engagement.”
To this, Barbara Palvin added,
“We just want to do it on our time. When some people leaked the information that we got engaged, our PR team was like, ‘Hey, so you guys should do maybe a post about it or talk to this magazine or talk to that magazine…’ That really annoyed me because I knew we were building this story up. So, I’m very happy that we ended up doing it our way.”
The couple publicly announced and confirmed their engagement through Instagram posts, featuring them posing for V Magazine‘s V143 Fall Preview 2023 Issue. Barbara Palvin tagged Dylan and captioned the post “With the power invested in V, I am a Sprouse to be.” The post came after Dylan posted from the same photoshoot with the caption “Sprouse’s to be.” Check out their posts below:
When asked about marriage, Sprouse explained that he saw it as a pledge to kind of love someone forever and be their partner. He added in jest that he was anxious for the first dance. However, Palvin added
“I’m really not nervous about getting married. I think the engagement stressed me more than the wedding.”
The couple has revealed that their wedding will take place in Palvin’s native country, Hungary. However, no official announcement about their wedding date has been made yet. You can read the full interview of the duo with V Magazine here.
