Ezra Miller‘s appearance at the LA premiere of DC’s The Flash caught people by surprise, mainly because many assumed they wouldn’t be making any due to their controversies in 2022. Now, it’s sparked a wave of commentary on social media, primarily due to the unexpected nature of their presence.
One thing that people pointed out was how Miller had to “keep themselves together” in public, considering there were old reports of them acting violently in Hawaii last year. While director Andy Muschietti commented in the past that Miller was recovering, it hasn’t stopped the internet from questionably poking fun at their mental health issues and violent tendencies.
Based on the videos and photos circulating on social media, it’s safe to say that Miller has been well-behaved, and is simply happy to be there at the premiere. While some people found entertainment in poking fun at Miller’s mental health and past behavior, it’s crucial to remember that Miller didn’t attend any of the previous advance screenings for The Flash, including the one at CinemaCon.
While we could agree that Miller got away so easily after months of absence and silence, making fun of the actor who just recovered could be seen as cruel, especially when they sought help and thanked everyone at the premiere who helped during their recovery.
While their future in the DCU remains uncertain, Muschietti showed interest in working with the actor again in a future project.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 16, 2023.
