Early reviews for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts have arrived, and they came with good and bad news. The good news is that it’s turned out to be one of the top films in the franchise. However, the bar wasn’t set very high – and looking at the overall score the film received, it doesn’t look very promising.

According to the film’s Rotten Tomatoes page, Rise of the Beasts currently has a critics score of 56 percent, with its naysayers claiming that it’s mediocre and that the film could have done better. However, it doesn’t negate the fact that it’s part one of the top three films in the franchise, just under the 2007’s Transformers (57 percent) rating, with Bumblebee standing high above the rest of the franchise at 91 percent.

The audience scores is yet to be determined since the film is yet to be released. But based on the comments that were left under the trailer, people seem to be keen to hear Peter Cullen voice Optimus Prime in this nearly two decade-old movie franchise at the age of 81. But then again, looking back at previous average audience scores that the earlier films received, I wouldn’t hold my breath for it going over 50 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the seventh installment of the Transformers film franchise and was confirmed by director, Steven Caple Jr that the film would take place two decades before the events of the 2007 movieRise of the Beasts will have an all-star cast, featuring Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage, and Pete Davidson. If you want to see this upcoming Transformers movie, Rise of the Beasts hits theaters on June 9, 2023.
