Fans have been waiting impatiently for Invincible season 2 for over two years now, and it looks like Amazon is paying close attention to their cries.
The official Twitter account for the show posted an edited clip from the series to symbolize a call for patience. In the clip, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons) can be seen training Mark (Steven Yeun), who’s keeping a giant asteroid from hitting the planet. In this supposed meme format, Omni-Man represents the animators working hard on season 2; he instructs Mark (who is the page’s admin in this scenario) to throw the asteroid back into space (the asteroid is overlaid with a poorly photoshopped meme asking for season 2).
Given the monotony of social media, it’s no surprise the animation team is feeling harried by fans. Whenever the official Twitter page posts, the replies are flooded with fans eager for news of the second season, which is scheduled to air, somewhat nebulously, later in 2023.
The first season of the series ended on something of a cliffhanger. Following his violent fight with his father, Mark found himself devastated, but ready to continue being a hero. Many threats were teased to be coming for the Earth, which is now defenseless following Omni-Man’s self-imposed exile.
Thus far, little is known about Invincible‘s second season. While a short promo was released back in January, no new information has been revealed since then. The series (which has also been picked up for a third season) will presumably continue to adapt the original Invincible comic book series by Image Comics while also putting its own spin on the material.
