Now June is here, the most important incoming date in MCU fans’ calendars is June 21 as that marks the premiere date for Secret Invasion, the long-awaited noirish thriller series starring Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. The good news is, though, that we don’t have to wait until then for more Marvel-themed streaming content to arrive as Disney Plus has quietly revealed that five new episodes of a different, if related, show are due to drop on the platform a few days sooner.

As per details on what’s coming to Disney Plus Japan this month, Marvel Studios: Legends is releasing a handful of episodes on June 14. Legends is of course the short-film clip-based series that centers each fresh episode around a different MCU character, recapping their journey across the franchise so far. It’s tradition for a new batch to premiere shortly before the next MCU release. e.g. we just got six eps prior to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 releasing in May.

Episodes 10 to 14 of Marvel Legends are now scheduled for June 14, although it has yet to be revealed which characters, in particular, they will focus on. We can probably hazard a guess, however, based on who we know to be in Secret Invasion‘s ensemble cast. One for Fury is a given, and episodes focused on the likes of Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill and Martin Freeman’s Everett Ross seem like smart bets as well.

While they mostly package together material we’ve seen before, Legends episodes also occasionally include some fresh footage from the upcoming production, so are certainly worth watching. Memorably, Mantis’ episode ahead of The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special went and spoiled that presentation’s big twist. Moreover, they are often made available to watch for free on YouTube as well. Although if you’re an MCU fan and still don’t have a Disney Plus account at this point, you’re seriously missing out.

Keep an eye open for more Marvel Studios: Legends later this month.
