A husband of a beauty contestant redefined the term “sore loser” after his wife finished in second place, resulting in the winner’s crown being shattered on stage in a stunning display of runner-up rage.

Globo TV Brazil and the New York Post report that at the Miss Gay Mato Grosso 2023 beauty contest on Saturday the 27th, the crowd cheered as Emannuelly Belini was named the winner. Those cheers, however, quickly turned to shocked gasps when the husband of runner-up Nathally Becker, ran on stage and grabbed the crown out of the hands of the presenter, just as she was about to place it on Belini’s head. The furious husband, whose name was not revealed, then went full Incredible Hulk and slammed the crown onto the stage in utter disapproval of his wife not being crowned the winner.

He can then be seen trying to walk his wife off stage only to then decide he wasn’t angry enough and actually picks up the crown and again slams it to pieces. He then furiously argue with security, who escort him off stage.

Pageant organizers initially confirmed that the man did indeed destroy the crown because, as they explain, “He did not consider the result to be fair and caused all this inconvenience and damage.”

Malone Haenisch, the pageant coordinator, said, “We vehemently condemn the incident that occurred at the time of the crowning of the elected Miss.”

Haenisch also made it clear that he contacted the pageant’s legal team and emphasized that legal measures will be taken.

It was unclear if the angered husband was arrested. Rage certainly seems to be a theme in the news recently. Mick Jagger’s daughter was arrested earlier this month for allegedly being uncontrollably angry at police. Famous angry celebrity Alec Baldwin, who once got into a fight over a parking space — and settled out of court — always seem to have unnecessary anger, just ask the waitress he scolded a couple weeks ago.

Haenisch further added a defense of the pageant’s decision, stating, “We confirm the pageant jury’s choice and we sympathize with the elected Miss as the runner-up, as she is not responsible for the crazy attitudes of third parties.”

He ended his statement by congratulating Belini in earning the now-shattered crown that hopefully is replaced and paid for by the crazed husband.
