The lead-up to Attack on Titan‘s series finale has been a slow one but it was worth it after the first part of season four’s big finale was released back in March of this year. Fortunately, the anime’s director has shared an update on the development of Part Four of the show’s final season with patient fans.
Yuichiro Hayashi’s shared an update through the official Attack on Titan Twitter page, where he revealed that the sequel to part three still has some work to be done. According to the anime director, he believes that Part Four may be the last for season four and that he’s decided to go for a more simple route in the finale. He also teased fans about the show’s content and claimed that there will be something interesting to be seen but couldn’t explain what it is without spoiling it.
There is speculation that the anime’s finale will deviate from the manga. In a previous interview with Crunchyroll News, Attack on Titan‘s manga creator, Hajime Isayama claimed that he wished he’s done things differently in the manga’s story. However, based on what’s currently shown, the anime seems to be following the same route as the source material, for now at least.
Attack on Titan finished its 9-year manga run on October 2021. The story gave an emotional conclusion to all our characters, as well as a time jump to an uncertain future ahead of them. Hopefully, Crunchyroll will have enough time to learn from its mistakes from its Part Three release and give anime fans a smooth streaming experience without delays during the show’s conclusion.
A release date for Part Four has not yet been announced. However, fans can still stream the series so far on Crunchyroll.
