2023 is already rocketing past.
It seems like only last week we were making our New Years resolutions, only to turn around and find summer looming. Thus, it is already time to enjoy the Met Gala, an annual fashion event that comes about at the start of May. The first Monday of the month hosts the 50-year-old event every year — with a few rare exceptions — and 2023 is no different. The star-studded affair is mere hours away at this point, but you can still clear some space in your schedule to enjoy fashion’s biggest night of the year.
What time does the Met Gala’s red carpet start?
This year’s Met Gala is scheduled for Monday, May 1. The red carpet begins ahead of the event itself, at 6pm ET, and viewers can tune in as soon as the red carpet coverage begins. That leaves viewers in the CT zone with a red carpet start time of 5pm, PT viewers with a rather early start time of 3pm, and viewers in the UK with a much later start time of 11pm.
Where to watch the 2023 Met Gala
Viewers can tune into this year’s Met Gala via a variety of streaming options. Perhaps the easiest way to watch the event is via NBC’s livestream, which will be available both on the network’s site and via its app, or via Vogue or E! itself. Vogue — which is owned by a major Met Gala sponsor — is offering up a livestream on its site, hosted by Chloe Fineman, La La Anthony, and Derek Blasberg.
Alternately, viewers with a subscription to E! can also enjoy the Met Gala red carpet. The event is set to be live streamed both on the channel (for those with a cable subscription) and via streaming, and a free trial to apps like fuboTV will allow users to enjoy E!’s coverage of the event.
