The release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is all but imminent at this point. As such, fans are beginning to revisit any and all media related to Star Lord and his band of space-faring buddies, whether that be the movies, or a perusal of old promotional materials.
One such Marvel enthusiast was scrolling through the original film’s image gallery over on Rotten Tomatoes specifically on a mobile device, and just so happened to come upon possibly both the most serendipitous and unfortunate photo mish-mash of Rocket and Drax, turning the smallest Guardian into the most jacked one:
Imagery that immediately springs to mind when we see this is the iconic “doge” Shiba Inu turned into a giga-Chad with a bodybuilder’s physique attached to its head, and honestly, we’re all for it. While we all know that Peter Quill is the descendant of a straight-up god, we think Chad-Rocket could probably throw him through a wall with ease. Probably wishful thinking, but can we get this Rocket variant in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, pretty please?
With the original Guardians film currently sporting a 92 percent rating from both critics and audiences on the popular review aggregation site, James Gunn’s Marvel debut remains one of the highest-rated entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date. Needless to say, fans are anxious for the threequel to turn out well – and not be dead on arrival like the severely disappointing Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. With the trilogy seemingly maintaining some self-awareness of the MCU’s criticisms, hopefully Gunn’s swansong in the franchise won’t disappoint.
All will be revealed when the team arrives on the silver screen for a big finale – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theaters on May 5, 2023.
