Kelly Craft, the former United States Ambassador to the United Nations, is currently running to become the Governor of Kentucky, though, with this recent campaign ad, we don’t hold much hope for her. The politician recently released an ad aimed at targeting “wokeness” in education which she, of course, hopes to eradicate. The ad is now being shredded in forums like Reddit where some wonder how on earth she thought this was a good idea.
Craft has worked within the political sphere for some time now. She started off in local politics raising funds for her community, before then moving into the big leagues later on becoming a major donor for Republican candidates which resulted in her becoming the Kentucky finance committee chairwoman for Mitt Romney’s campaign in 2012. She also contributed more than $2 million to Trump’s campaign.
Now, after her many years in foreign politics working as an ambassador, she is running to become the Governor of Kentucky. She recently released a video so bizarre that many have compared it to the crazy skits you would usually find on Saturday Night Live. In it, she presents “woke bureaucrats” (a pretty vague definition) as parachuting into schools to indoctrinate children in the ways of “wokeness”. Ah yes, the evil that is knowledge.
These bureaucrats, ironically enough, are all white and above middle-aged (we wonder why they might struggle to cast diverse actors for this?) and wear tie-dye t-shirts and have purple wigs and fake nose piercings – think of the children! They dare to teach kids their CRTs (Critical Race Theory) and force a girl (in an all-white class) to give her pronouns as well as her name.
She goes on to state that if elected she will overturn the Department of Education, stating “because these are our children, not the governments” forgetting the fact that she will be a government figure, working within the government and saying what should and shouldn’t be allowed in education. The hypocrisy is so painfully obvious it hurts right?
The video is making the rounds on social media, with one person taking it to Reddit where many are taking it to school.
Many are pointing out how ridiculous her notion that she is somehow separate from the government is.
This is very much a case of it’s my way or the highway.
This user believes she simply wants to implement her own agenda under the assumption that her way is best.
Another pointed out that there are more pressing problems at hand.
There were many in the comments who were reminded of awesome purple-haired teachers they had had at school.
Others pointed out that Critical Race Theory is not being taught to kids at this level of education, and that it’s just a scare mongering tactic utilized by Republicans.
One Kentuckian throws in their two cents on the candidate, and that they believe that no one really cares for her at all.
Craft may be onto something though, by creating such a ridiculous video that misrepresents the issue at hand while using all the classic talking points she caters to the very sect of people that got Trump elected in 2016. It even has bright colors to keep them engaged!
