The Marvel fandom has certainly been divided as of late. Whether it surrounds story, acting, or otherwise — Phase Four has easily been the most divisive period in MCU history. Fans of these tales to astonish are often finding themselves at odds these days, disagreeing on everything from VFX to casting choices. Now though, it looks like they have something to agree on.
Celebrating one of Phase Four’s most ambitious entries, Marvel fans have arrived on Twitter to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Moon Knight.
Call him Marc Spector, Steven Grant, Jake Lockley, or even just Moon Knight — this Egyptian-themed tale of life, death, and rebirth definitely had quite a bit to say. Not to mention the fact that it looked pretty darn incredible. What made Moon Knight really sing came down to its cast performances. Oscar Isaac had huge shoes to fill, and to no one’s surprise, he pulled off multiple personalities with no problem. Ethan Hawke was a great villain, and May Calamawy was an incredible addition as Layla El-Faouly.
Seriously, Issac really swung for the fences in Moon Knight and it paid off. He produced some of his most compelling work as an actor, while also delivering to fans an on-screen rendition of one of their favorite comic characters.
This fan really hit the nail on the head. It seems many folks were quick to criticize Moon Knight when it first came out, and in part, for good reason. The show isn’t without its flaws, and at times had us scratching our heads — having said that, though, it is a more than watchable Disney Plus installment. If anything else, it’s a fun time, and that should always be worth something these days. Happy Birthday, Moon Knight!
