Everything Everywhere All At Once star and Academy Award nominee Ke Huy Quan has shown throughout this award season that even celebrities can get starstruck. The actor was caught being visible excited when he learned that Tom Cruise was also attending this year’s Oscar luncheon, a special event for Oscar nominees.
ABC journalist Jason Nathanson shared a video where Quan cheered when he found out that the Top Gun: Maverick star had arrived. After everyone’s cheering, Quan said that the first thing he’ll do if the two meet is “ask for a selfie.” Celebrities, they’re just like us.
Fortunately, his wish came true. Quan managed to meet Cruise at the event and was able to take a photo with him. According to New York Times journalist Kyle Buchanan and Entertainment Tonight via Twitter, Quan was giddy when he met Cruise and said “I want a picture with this man.”
Quan was seen throughout the event, taking photos with celebrities he wanted to meet. Asides from Cruise, he was seen with Florence Pugh, Dolly de Leon, and Paul Mescal, just to name a few. He really is having the time of his life during this award season.
Quan was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at this year’s Academy Awards for his role in Everything, Everywhere, All At Once. There are predictions that he might win the award considering that he recently won at both Golden Globes and the Gotham Awards. Asides from Quan, his co-stars Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Stephanie Hsu are also nominated for this year’s Oscars, and the film is one of the contenders for Best Picture.
The 95th Academy Awards will commence on March 12, 2023, and will be broadcast on ABC at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
