Jessica Chastain graced our screens last year with six incredible films and it seems that this year she will be following that up with another six. Out of all of the actress’ films coming out in 2012, probably the one that we have heard the least about is Andres Muschietti‘s horror film Mama.
Chastain shot the film last Fall in Toronto but other then one set photo which gave a look at Chastain in character, news has been very quite on the film. Today though, we finally receive an update.
According to a user on IMDb, the press kit for Madagascar 3 (which Chastain stars in) states that Mama has a release date of October 3rd, 2012.
Mama is being produced by Guillermo del Toro and will be distributed by Universal. For those unfamiliar with the project, check out the plot summary below.
“Annabel (Chastain) and Lucas (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) are faced with the challenge of raising his young nieces that were left alone in the forest for 5 years…. but how alone were they?”
The film is based of a very scary short that Muschietti wrote and directed a few years back. With Chastain on board, I’m expecting a pretty good film. Plus, it will be interesting to see her do horror.
Mama stars Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and will be released on October 3rd, 2012.
