After a bit of delay, it looks like Piranha 3DD will finally see the light of day this summer. Today saw the release of the first official red band trailer for the horror-comedy and we have it here for your viewing pleasure.
Alexandre Aja, director of Piranha 3D, is not returning for the sequel. Taking his place is John Gulager, who directed a low budget feature called Feast. Those who are returning for the killer fish sequel include Ving Rhames and Christopher Lloyd. Newcomers include Gary Busey, David Koechner, and David Hasselhoff, who plays himself.
The film takes place after the events at Lake Victoria in the first one. The piranhas migrate to a local water park called Big Wet, which just hired a bunch of “safety certified strippers” as their lifeguards. While the attendants are there to get drunk, get some sun and have some fun, the piranhas are there to get some food.

Piranha 3DD will be released on June 1, 2012.
